Oh Happy Summer

To all by blogging friends I want to say ThAnK YoU for stopping in even when the postings have been slow! This summer continues to be full of celebrations:) I haven't been on the computer a lot because I have been at the sewing machine. After I finished Mom & Dad's portriat, I burned the midnight oil creating my nephew's fabric scrapbook wallhanging. It turned out to be sew much fun!

The fabrics are a collection of his favorite pastimes. Snowmobiling, football, fourwheelers and farming are featured. I also included colorful cow fabric from an outfit I made for him years ago when he was little. You will find many embellishments thoughout the quilt. I have included charms to match the fabrics, football ticket stubs, and patches of interest. The pictures you see have all been scanned and printed on fabrics. I even scanned a picture he drew for Uncle Rob featuring his pickup and loyal dog KC. Now you can see where I have been these past few weeks:) (To get a close view, be sure to click on the pictures).

4-H is also in primetime. As mentioned in a previous post, we traveled to camp two weeks ago with 210 campers , 45 counselors and 20+ adults. In the picture above the kids and counselors are enjoying a water carnival with a little paint mixed in:) So much fun and laughter. It really went well and was lots of fun. Now we are preparing for judgings and fair. If you would like to see what else I have been up to, visit our Wood County Ohio 4-H blog.

We have traveled to ballgames, graduation parties, anniversary parties, bridal showers, and a housewarming celebration. Above you can see your nephew Tyler enjoying the game. It has been a joyful summer so far, and in a few weeks just before fair, we have a very special wedding I have been looking forward two for over a year and a half. We will then wrap up the summer in September with yet another wedding for my nephew. More sewing is on the horizon, but I'm taking a break and spending sometime focusing on my home and garden. It's time to clean up:) I have a break from everything this week and it is exciting to be home. I have also discovered a new wonderful blog! At our June quilt guild meeting of the Blackswamp Quilters, Kelly Jackson shared with us her blog...I Have A Notion. Her postings are wonderful and inspiring. She has great tutorials and lots of great information you will just love! Be sure to check it out,
Thanks Kelly.

Happy Sunshine Summer To You.
Thank You For Your Friendship.

WOW. You have been busy. I love the quilt with all the photos. I'm sure he is so pleased to have something he will cherish always. As I read your post, I was reminded of 4-H Camps of my childhood in KY.

Hey there Jenna! Wow, wow, wow! I am just speechless at your finished pieces. I admire your determination; I just don't have the kind of patience to do a portrait one. All I can think of to say is WOW. And the memory one for your nephew; I know you had the time of your life creating that one.
Awesome work, dear friend.
Always blessed,
Blondie
