Fabric Finds...

It's been a little while since my last post, things are unsettled at work so my DH thought a weekend away to the Amish Quilt Show might just do me some good. It was a fabulous time. So many beautiful quilts and great shopping in the vendor's area. Not only did I find some new terrific projects to dive into, I met some wonderful people. Quilting and any kind of Needlework brings me so much peace. I wish I was in my sewing room 24 hours a day...well at least 20:) Below are some wonderful fabric stars I found at the Amish Flea Market. The fabric is vintage and they are pieced by hand. They are priceless! I was speechless when I found them.

I also enjoy vintage crochet, embroidery, and needlework books. They are fascinating to me. I love the style, colors and simplicity of these publications. I found these books at a second hand store just down the street from the flea market.

One of the many quilt shops in Amish Country has a large collection of antique sewing machines, all makes and models. I have a small collection and thought I would share a recent toy just added to the bunch. It is a Jr. Miss Sewing Machine and Kit from Life Magazine. I just had to have it.

So much has been happening these days, I feel so attached to the things that really matter. Like many others, I am concerned for the future and what it might bring. I have thought a lot about my Grandparents these days. I miss them dearly and think about the struggles they overcame and all the love they gave to us. Grandma made us beautiful pillowcases and I'm so blessed to have a set to cherish.

I wish all of you many blessings.
So many of us are struggling with day-to-day activities,
take time to enjoy the things that make you happy.

Hugs,
Jenna Louise
