Making New Friends...

What a wonderful feeling to meet someone you took an on-line class with! I had the honor of meeting Gwen Gwinner from my Fabric Portrait class at Quilt University. Their were students
from all over the world and it just so happened that Gwen only lives about an hour from my house! She lives right on the way to Amish Country in Northeast Ohio. I love to go their because they have some of the most wonderful quilt shops I have ever found.

Gwen made the first fabric portrait of her husband. She did wonderful thread painting and so much detail! Her second masterpiece was also very stunning and she displayed it at the
National Quilt Show in Columbus this past June.

All the pictures were taken in her quilt studio. We had a wonderful time getting to know each other. I know I will stop and see her again.

Life always takes us into new directions. I spent some quality time with my father this past Saturday. In a few weeks his childhood home is going to be auctioned and I took him to the open house. The house is amazing. It needs a lot of work but it really has a charm about it that is hard to explain. It was a joy to watch him look around like a child and share all his childhood memories with me. The best part of the day was when I ran into my cousin Teresa...I know her as Teri. We have only met maybe twice in our lives (when we were kids) and here we were in the house our parents grew up in and by chance saw each other. So much to talk about, I look forward to getting to know her and the rest of the family!

Thanks for stopping by! You never know what will happen to you when you start your day! Embrace the happy times and enjoy new blessings!

Wonderful post, Jenna. It's great to meet your online friend in person--and you live so close to each other. I imagine you'll have more visits with one another. Good for you! You'll inspire one another to greater heights. Bravo!

Gwen is a lucky gal.
